Widows Sons MRA England- Kernow Chapter raise £250 for The Order of Women Freemasons NHS Social Care & Frontline Workers’ Day

To raise money for the NHS, celebrating 75 years, on behalf of the women freemasons’ Lodges in Cornwall – Liskerrett No 347 and Kerenza No 273, Bro Sue Hallett, with assistance of Bro Beth Holtum, organised an afternoon Tea Party for Monday 5th July 2021 at Bro Sue’s garden. This was being supported by gentlemen of The Earl of St Germans Lodge No 7031.
With over 80 attending and the Government not relaxing Covid restrictions as planned, unfortunately the right thing to do was cancel the event. However, a Garden Party will be held at a later date.
To sweeten the blow of cancelling this charity event, The Widows Sons members of the Earl of St Germans Lodge held an outside BBQ, which complied with Covid restrictions, and raised the sum of £250 for the NHS charities.
“We are delighted to have been able to support women’s freemasonry in Cornwall, and to support their initiative to raise money for our invaluable NHS,” said W Bro Richard Hallett, President of the Widows Sons Masonic Riders Association England Grand Chapter.
W Bro Hallett and wife Bro Sue Hallett with the Widows Sons Treasurer, W Bro Graham Holtum then presented a cheque for the NHS fundraising to the Worshipful Masters, W Bro Katie Rutherford and W Bro Leah Sherman, at their meeting in Liskeard.
