The Widows Sons MRA is an international masonic association of motorcycle enthusiasts, with membership made up of Master Masons from regular lodges in all four corners of the globe.
To become a member of the Widows Sons MRA, you have to be a Master Mason, in good standing in a regular lodge recognised by UGLE, have a full motorcycle licence and ride a motorcycle. For more information contact – firstname.lastname@example.org
We were the first Grand Chapter in England, and have subsequently chartered two more – Landsker Chapter in the Province of Wales and the Band of Brothers in the Province of Kent.
We are not motorcycle brand specific, nor do we intend to speak for or represent any Masonic body. We simply share our passion for riding with all other Masons who ride, and raise money for charity while we do it. We are a social riding association, not a motorcycle club. Our name comes from certain aspects of our Fraternity, it is not intended to install fear or appear threatening in any way.
We are not territorial and do not condone illegal activities by our members. We ask our members act in a way that will reflect well on our Association, our Fraternity and motorcycling in general.
We have a badge comprised of a picture and the words, “Widows Sons”. We also wear a Square & Compass patch (as we are entitled to do as Masons) to denote our personal fraternal affiliation. This is not our ‘colours’; it is simply a common custom among members of our Fraternity to wear this symbol.
We strive to be friends and on good terms with ALL other associations, clubs and riders we share the road with. We realise that wearing a patch is a serious matter and wear them appropriately. We understand there are groups that have been around for many years and we respect that. We realise we are able to enjoy many of our riding freedoms thanks to the many groups and riders that have been ‘in the wind’ before us.
Our badge allows other groups to know who we are and where we are from. We wear the name of our Chapter and the St Piran flag in Cornwall simply to identify where we are from not to claim any territory.
In an effort to make sure all groups understand our purpose we have contacted the NCOM and the COC to make them aware of our existence and our purpose.
Our members are also individually, members of BMF, MAG, HOG, AMA and other similar motorcycling associations. We come from all walks of life, including veterans of our Armed Forces.
